THE goal of 'pretend' was to create an aesthetic edit that complimented the message and theme of the song. The song Jocelyn Flores by XXXTentacion tells the story of his friend who committed suicide, and in the edit I wanted to display those emotions through the use of visual storytelling
In visual art you can display many emotions. Power, sadness, powerless, weak, strong, energy, etc. These are all things you can accomplish with visual effects or camera angles. In 'pretend' I used the empty space to evoke feelings of sadness and loneliness
